Weapons license

A firearms license, as defined in Section 5 of the Second Firearms Regulation (WaffV), is a prerequisite for applying for a firearms ownership card and serves as proof of proper handling of firearms. A psychological evaluation regarding firearms is required for the initial application.

We offer a concise training program for the firearms license and also assist with arranging the required psychological evaluation.

Your path to a gun ownership card:
  • Minimum age 21 years (exceptions possible for hunting or sporting activities).
  • Weapons psychology certificate (not required for holders of a valid hunting license)
  • Weapons license (not required if proof of regular use of a service, hunting or sporting weapon is provided).
  • Application to the responsible firearms authority (main residence)
